Change application type from Consolidation to Financial in 7.5

I have an application in my appset that is defined as a Consolidation application.  However, only US_ELIM is done.  There is no GROUP dimension.  Is there any harm in Changing the application type to Financial?  I know that US eliminations can be done in a Financial application.  I want to do this before we upgrade to BPC 10 where a Consolidation application is required to have a GROUP dimension.
