EPMSelectMember - #Ambiguous MemberID

Hi

 

I'm trying to write EPMSelectMember Formula

 

My Hirearchy is

 

BIG                                TOP LEVEL

  APAC                            LEVEL 1

      APAC_INPUT            BAS MEMBER

            AU-NZ                 LEVEL2

                AUSTRALIA     LEVEL3

                       AU             BASMEMBER 

                 NEWZELAND   LEVEL3

                          NZ           BAS MEMBER   

     BRUNEI

           BRUNEI-SR

                 BN

     CAMBODIA

etc.,

 

when i write formula EPMSelectMember(,"APAC","PARENTH1=BIG","COUNTRY",FALSE) , error says #Ambiguous MemberID

 

but when i write formula EPMSelectMember(,"APAC_INPUT","PARENTH1=BIG","COUNTRY",FALSE)  no error

 

but again when i write formula EPMSelectMember(,"AU","PARENTH1=BIG","COUNTRY",FALSE) again error says #Ambiguous MemberID

 

I didn't understand limitations of EPMSelectMember

 

please find attached error image, and please let me know what are the members do i need to use in EPMSelectMember.

Does the Light Optimize DM Package Override Environment Configs?

Looking at the images on http://scn.sap.com/thread/3691185

 

If the process chain for Light Optimize for the environment is configured to number of requests not to collapse = 2 and the zero elimination is NOT checked, can these parameters be over-ridden in the DM package?

 

We are trying to create a second package based off of the same process chain to allow certain users to run a light optimize for some models where they want to collapse all requests and want to enable zero elimination.  The problem is that it seems if we click to modify the package in DM there are a number of places that have variables but there seems to be inconsistency in what is showing and how to design the package to ignore the default setting of 2 requests and Zero Elimination is not enabled.

 

Any help is greatly appreciated!

BPC User Package Failing - Looking for Run Admin Package Task

Hi Experts,

 

I have a DM User package which is throwing an authorization error as shown below

Hierarchy Loading from BW to BPC (Text Node)

Hi SCN,

 

HierarchyInfoObjectNode Name

We're wondering why can't we upload our hierarchy from BW to BPC properly where the mother node is a text node.

 

What we are getting in BPC are only the child nodes, so basically, it is not under one umbrella.

 

BPC Output:

 

+Hierarchy 1 (Child Node)

+Hierarchy 2 (Child Node)

 

Supposed Output:

Hierarchy 1 (Mother Node)

     +Hierarchy 1 (Child Node)

     +Hierarchy 2 (Child Node)

Formatting issue in EPM10 after 500 lines

Hi

 

In my template I highlighted the row with different color for ACCOUNT.CALC="Y", after certain number of rows formatting is not working, can i know the reason, I'm using Version EPM10 SP18 .NET 3.5.

 

Can anyone please let me know what could be reason, please find below attachment

 

in the attachment same OPEX Account highlighted up to 789th row in Data grid and after that same OPEX in data grid not highlighted, format not working. in Row axis format is working, but not in Data grid

Schedule DM Package what can I do for TIME ?

HI business want to launch a specific script when we load data from SAP ECC. Actually the script is in a Package and the user run the package

 

1-Is it an easy way to set that in process chain ? or see point 2

2-Can I scheduled the package. My question with scheduling is in my Prompt value I need to set TIME is it a way to take care of time ? Ex. 2015.JAN etc...

Equity Pick Up Monitor not displaying Children from Entity Dimension

Hi,

 

I am configuring Equity Pick Up monitor and facing issue relating to Monitor not displaying Children from Entity Dimension.

 

I have configured the Equity Pick Business Rule.

After loading Ownership data, Transaction Data and performing Currency Translation, I am unable to see Children from Entity Dimension on which Equity Pick Up was supposed to be run.

 

Equity pickup Monitor is only displaying Parents within Entity Dimension.

No Infoproviders available for Embeded Model creation

Hello all,

 

In new installation of BPC10.1, once the Embeded Environment was created, we can not see any Infoproviders available for a new model.

During creation process, we got "No data" information in Step 2.

Our SAP NW is 7.4, SP08. I have administrator rights.

 

Any idea ?

How to know which user is BPC Service User - BPC NW 10.0/10.1

As you know, BPC Service User is very important because some tasks are done by BPC Service User instead of BPC User you logged on. For example, when you process dimension, there will be a job created by BPC Service User. If SAP_BPC_SERVICE role is not assigned to BPC service, you may encounter errors.

 

You want to know which user is your BPC Service User. Normally, people often use BPC_SERVICE as the BPC Service User. However, the BPC user name may be different depends on what user you created.

 

Now, let's see how to find our which user is your BPC Service User.

 

  1. Execute transaction code SPRO.
  2. Click SAP Reference IMG->Expand Planning and Consolidation.
  3. Click Execute button next to Set Global Parameters.
  4. Find field name RFC_DESTINATION and remember the value of this parameter. (If this parameter is not maintained, you need to maintain it by following the BPC installation guide.)
  5. Execute transaction code SM59.
  6. Expand ABAP Connections folder.
  7. Double-click the connection with the same name in step 4.
  8. Open tab Logon&Security.
  9. The user maintained here is the BPC service user.

By the way, to trouble shoot the BPC issue, after step 7, I suggest you perform Connection Test and Automation Test by going menu Utilities->Test.

Setting Valid Business Combinations for Data Entry

Hi All,

 

I am using BPC 10.0 NW.

 

I wish to set certain restrictions for User data entry.

 

For example, I want to restrict Users from Saving data through the use of an input Schedule to Flow Member 'Opening Flow'.

 

So there are 2 criteria:

 

1) Restriction for saving data against a particular Combination of members.

2) Restriction  for saving data using a particular Data Entry Method (i.e. not allowed through Input Schedule but allowed through Data Manager Package etc.)

 

I considered the alternative of a Work Status, Locking data Entry against 'Opening Flow' through Data Entry Method 'Manual Entry' but that prevents me from using Flow Dimension in 'Controls' Setup.

 

I understand UJ_VALIDATION Feature  does not work in BPC 10.0 NW.

 

Any Suggestions Experts?

Wrong CSV format when EPM is launched

Hi All,

 

Appreciate your help.

 

There is an error "Wrong CSV format"when I connect EPM to connect to consolidation model in SAP BPC IFRS Starter Kit..

 

Below is the log from EPM:

Difference Between "Admin Console" and "Web Admin"

Hi expert.

 

Here's a question I would like to ask you below.

 

I am now studying past questions of BPC functions in order to prepare for the exam.

However  one of the questions about "Admin Console" and "Web Console" is bothering me for hours.

 

I don't get what "Admin Console" and "Web Admin" stand for.

I have used BPC only for NW version, not for MS version.

 

I thought "Admin Console" must the screen I can see after clicking

"Planning and Consolidation Administration" of the start page after log-in.

 

Any help is welcome.

BPC10NW EPM Add-In function EPMDimensionOverride

Hi all

I'm trying to uitlise the EPMDimensionOverride function to override the context member of a dimension with multiple single values, based on a property of the dimension.

For example, dimension "Internal Order" has "Profit Center" as a property. When the user selects a Profit Center for planning, the report should expand with all Internal Orders that have the selected profit center as a property value.

I haven't had success using EPMContextMember or EPMSelectMember as these functions only return single members. What function or combination thereof can be used to produce a list of members with a common property that can be used in the Member parameter of the EPMDimensionOverride function?

Data Manager Package running Endlessly in BPC

Hi All,

 

I have a Data Manager Package in SAP BPC that has been running for more than 26 hours in the quality system now.

Could someone please help me understand what could be the possible reasons?

 

 

I am looping almost 180 entities from the BPC script logic, and calling the UJ_CUSTOM_LOGIC badi implementation

for each entity. Approx 5000 writeback entries are generated for each entity inside CT_DATA.

 

We ran the Test for the same Data load several times , but we have been getting contrasting results in terms performance each time

 

The first time : the package completed after 19 hours , the second time it took just 7 hours , the third time it took 9 hours to complete ... and just yesterday it has been running non stop, so the basis guys had to kill the process.

Today, It has been running non stop again.

 

So, I did a test for a single entity in quality system:-

The badi takes approx 10 seconds to execute, but the package itself took 40 minutes to complete and wrote back around 4500 records.

 

 

 

In the Dev system

The DM package has been running fine in the Dev system, The package takes approx 30 seconds per entity , but with a reduced data load of course.

A test for all entities in Dev approx took 2 hours to complete, which i believe is acceptable... But the issue seems to be only in the QPC system.

 

 

Could someone throw some light on what exactly must be going wrong?

Restricting datamanager package groups for specific user - BPC NW 10

We are having many package groups in DATA MANAGER like (Data Management, Financial Process, Other Functions).

As per my security model, Now I have to hide the package groups Data Management, Financial Process and I have to display only package group Other function (Like below screen shot).

How to display and execute controls in Control Monitor

I created a control(Validation) in Rules-->Controls-->Consolidation.But when I want to execute this control, it doesnt seem in Control Monitor. There isn't control in Control Monitor, it seems empty. How will I execute this control and what should I do?

Application of support packs stuck

Hi

 

I am in the process of applying the support packs for my NW 7.3 for BPC 10.0.

 

I've applied the first basis patch sp01,  however it has been running for the past 5 hours now in the phase Main Import.

 

Please if you can help in finding out what the problem could be.

 

Environment :

Win 2012 R2

Oracle

NW 7.3
