How to replace NOSEND functionality in release V10.0 BPC for Netweaver

Hi Gurus,

 

I'am currently facing an issue on a implementation projet of SAP BPC 10 Netweaver on HANA.

 

Customer used to use BPC 7.5 MS. In every inputschedules they had set up a lot of controls based on the EVDRE "NOSEND" functionality. This function is very easy to use and very helpful to control the data and prevent user from sending inconsistant data to the DB. The cell "NOSEND" is filled with "Y" with Excel Formula when for instance the user has put a too large budget amount.

 

On the release 10.0 I cannot find any similar function ? Of course I already checked the "controls" functionality ; but nothing to see with NOSEND function because it cannot work with Inputschedules but only with data already send to the DB.

How to change from monthly consolidation to quaterly consol?

Dear Experts,

 

Currently, my system (BPC 10.0 Version NW) was configured to do monthly consolidation (that was what consultant said) but we would like to change from Monthly to Quarterly for business reason.

 

YTD was applied to model and there are a lot of "Periodic Calc." implemented in business rule - consolidation and adjustments.

 

What should I do?

Issue with Work status in SAP BPC 10.1 Unified Model

Hi Everyone,

 

I am are tying to setup work status functionality in SAP BPC 10.1 Unifed Model. But I am not getting any dimesions to select in the Owner dimension dropdown in the BPC Web Admin.

 

Is there any pre-requiste for setting up work status in Unified Model. Is there any document related to it? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

EPM 10 / needing to refresh 1 report with a different connection in the same worksheet

Hi,

 

I have a requirement where I need to refresh only one report from a worksheet that contains two. I know I can just click on the report and use the drop down option from the refresh button "Refresh selected report" but my client wants a VBA Macros that would execute that function for the users without them having to do those steps. Does any one has had a similar requirement?

Input form issue

Hi Folks ,

 

I am working on input form , i have almost done it , but the issue with it is when i save the data though inputform it save the data and i can check in the bi backend but it dones show data  in the input form after getting refresh.

 

After refresh it should show the data in the input form for the inputform combination in the backend but it does not show the data .

 

How this issue can be solved if anyone can help me out .

EPM Excel Installation

Dear SAP Support / BPC Expert,

 

I was doing EPM Excel Add-ins installation and get an error message Ngen.exe error likes below:

The error message appears while I am running EPM Add-in SP 13 Patch 2 .NET 4. After finish installation, I could not log on EPM Excel and got error The type initializer for 'FPMXLClient.Common.SAPPassportHelper' threw an exception.

 

Please any suggestion to solve it.

BPC 10.1 Classic. roles in BW. Cosolidation Menu doesnt appear

Hi.

I'm working in BPC users and I have figured out an issue so I need help.

In BPC I have an Admin user called BPCADMIN with full access and full task and in BW side SAP_ALL profile is assigned to this user.

I have take out SAP_ALL profile and  I have added the following roles:

SAP_BPC_SERVICE

/POA/BUI_UM_USER

/POA/BUI_FLEX_CLIENT

 

I can log on to BPC into administration console and I can see LIBRARY, ACTIVITIES, ADMINISTRATION, but not  CONSOLIDATION option.

I have added all *POA* and *BPC* roles to this user and same issue.  However, If I add SAP_ALL again, I can see CONSOLIDATION option.

 

I want to know which roles I need to asign to this user without using SAP_ALL profile.

Best upgrade strategy & steps for BPC 7.5 to BPC 10.0 upgrade

Hi All,

 

We are planing for upgrading our current BPC Servers from version 7.5 to 10.0

 

Our current BPC & BW landscape is

 

we have BW servers on a different server which is having CPMBPC 754 and the BPC server on a different server.

 

I heard that from BPC 10.0 the server components are included in the ABAP Add-on. Is that true ? If it is then how can i merge both the servers into one server ?

 

Could you please let me know what is the best way to upgrade the BPC server in our current situation.

Also please provide if there is any detailed document out listing the prerequisites & post steps for this upgrade.

Append should be done rather than overwrite

Hi Guys

I ve been facing a problem.

That is i have two types of members in dimension.

One is vertical and other is entity.
Vertical and entity are interlinked with each other.
One vertical can have multiple entities.When the script logic for this have been developed and during the running if we select the verticals respected entities are selected and their values should be appended .But for me they are overwriting

How to make them append.

Please help me.

Formatting using Merge cells for Local Members in EPM Report

Hi Everyone,

 

I've added a localmember into my EPM Report but I can neither use the Formatting Sheet option to merge a few cells nor can I use the Excel formatting. After EPM Refresh, the Excel Merge & Centre formatting is ignored by the system and those cells become unmerged again.

 

The requirement is to add a comment box for users to input comment at the end of the report i.e. after the last row of a dynamic EPM report i.e. both columns and rows of this report contracts and expands depending on a particular EPMContextMember.

 

Has anyone come across this issue before?

consolidation functions under Embedded BPC

The Embedded BPC now can do the consolidations, however I did not find there is consolidation standard functions such as currency conversion, account calculation etc under function tab of RSPLAN, how could we run the standard consolidation function?

Housekeeping Jobs_SAP BPC NW

Performance is the key factor in SAP BPC and lot of tables keep growing as time passes.

Wanted to document all house keeping jobs at one place.

1.BPC Statistics.

Always switch off parameter BPC_STATISTICS in SPRO settings after BPC performance statistics trace.

Execute program UJ0_STATISTICS_DELETE via transaction code SA38/SE38 to delete obsolete statistics or schedule it as background job as per note 1648137.

2.UJBR Backup and Restore:

As best practice should take backup with UJBR T code weekly once.

We can schedule this job weekly or if you have more than one environment and wanted to run back up jobs, you can create a process chain with the program UJT_BACKUP_RESTORE_UI.

By selecting  “Execute Backup” radio button we can take full backup of the environment. In the event of data loss due to any reason, we can restore the environment by selecting “Execute Restore” button.

3.Exports Jobs:

In the UJBR backup we take full back up weekly. But usually we work mostly on one category (Plan/forecast).Most of the times we may need to restore particular category data for a month or two for some selections. But we don’t have option restore a particular set of data in UJBR restore.

If we take exports and save it in the server, we can import based on our selections.

With the below DMP we can export the data.

4.LO Job:

Lite Optimization process helps to move transaction data from F fact table to E Fact table apart from other activities (i.e., Rollup, Statistics update, Closing the open requests).

This should be scheduled everyday night during off business hours. It improves query performance.

We can switch on Zero elimination in the /CPMB/LIGHT_OPTIMIZE process chain.

Else we can check “with Zero elimination” check box in Cube Manage tab in BW system.

The first option is applicable for all the models in a system, but the second option is for the specific cube (Model).

5.Zero Elimination:

If Zero elimination is not switched on due to any reason, if you want to eliminate Zero records from the system, you may use “RSCDS_NULLELIM” program.

6.Audit tables House Keeping:

In most of the cases we have audit logs enabled for Administration activity and User Activity.

Based on the purge frequency we have given, these tables don’t purge automatically.

We need to schedule the DMP - BPC: Archive Data(/CPMB/ARCHIVE_DATA) regularly. Based on the purge frequency we have given in audit functionality audit data moves from Audit data table to Archive table.

From archive table we can delete  with “UJU_DELETE_AUDIT_DATA” program.

For Administration activity logs we need to use “BPC: Archive Activity” ( /CPMB/ARCHIVE_ACTIVITY) DMP.

This DMP moves data from UJU_AUDACTDET to UJU_AUDACTDET_A ; UJU_AUDACTHDR ,UJU_AUDACTHDR_A table based on the selection given in the DMP. We can delete the data from UJU_AUDACTDET_A , UJU_AUDACTHDR_A  with the help of SE14 functionality.

7. Coments and Journals House Keeping:

If Comments are enabled and using journal entries, you may use BPC: Clear Comments(/CPMB/CLEARCOMMENTS), BPC: Clear Journal Tables(/CPMB/CLEAR_JOURNALS) DMPs.

8.BALDAT,BALHDR,BAL_INDX:

With the help of SBAL_DELETE program or SLG2 we can delete the application logs which are older than 1 year or as per our requirement.

9.UJF_DOC, UJF_DOC_CLUSTER,UJD_STATUS tables:

UJF_DOC table contains transformation files, conversion files, script logics and other documents.

And the flat files which were generated by exports jobs and files uploaded for copy jobs apart from logs generated by DMP execution.

We can delete the unwanted files, reports from Data Manager/EPM tabs in Excel.

UJF_DOC_CLUSTER, UJD_STATUS tables contain DMP execution logs details.UJF_FILE_SERVICE_DLT_DM_FILES, UJF_FILE_SERVICE_CLEAN_LOGS can be used to delete the Data from these tables.

We can delete the entries in UJF t code manually as well.

10.Work Status Tables:

Some times we will have entries in the system for obsolete transaction data.(You have locked data for 2010 year and after some time,you have deleted the transaction data.But work status table still contains the data for 2010).

Implement 2053697 note and run UJW_WS_TEST program.If you don't give selection here all work status entries will be deleted.

Is STRTOVALUE Working in BW 7.4 SP12 and Greater?

From a different discussion I learned that the old MDX function STRTOVALUE has been added in BW 7.4 SP12.

 

We recently upgraded to BW 7.4 SP 14 at one of my clients. I have a requirement to implement a custom measure 'AVGYTD'.  From SE37 BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_FUNCTIONS does list STRTOVALUE, however when I try to use it in the most straightforward way I can think of it won't save and I get an MDX error.

 

Here is my first attempt, which saves ok (syntactically OK) but is not correct because it just sums up the relevant periods but does not divide by the number of periods:

Of course dividing by hardcoded 3 is not correct; I was just trying to figure out if STRTOVALUE is even working.  Initially I was trying STRTOVALUE on the MONTHNUM property.


Can you see what I am doing wrong here?  Has anyone successfully used STRTOVALUE on SP12 or greater?

EPMWorkStatus does not work properly

Dear all,

I'm facing an issue with EPMWorkStatus formula.

I'm running SAP BPC 10.1 NW, my EPM add-in version is 23, installed on Excel 2013.

Basically the formula works only with the first parameter ( 0 = Status ), but it retrieves an empty value for the other ones (1=User and 2=Time).

It is strange because I am able to see the Status (such as unlocked or approved) but, as soon as I change the parameter, I cannot see any results.

Have someone of you experienced the same issue? Would you suggest any solution?

Not able to create an Instance in 10.1?

Hi,

 

I am not able to create an Instance in 10.1.

After Check Assignment step I am not able to proceed to next step.

After clicking on Next its not taking me to Set Timeline Step in the Instance creation screen.
